ELAR WEEK: January 28 - February 1

Reading Workshop:
In Reading Workshop this week, we will continue to learn the elements of a Drama. 
Vocabulary this week: Dialogue, Scene, Act, Mood, and Playwright. 

Students will continue to read a Drama, along with others they choose from. 



Writing Workshop:
In Writing Workshop we are continuing to build stamina. Students are responding to a prompt where they are working through all the parts of the writing process.

Students will also work in small groups to confer about writing as well as to confer about revising and editing other types of writing passages.




Word Work: 
Word Work this week, we will continue to work with Analogies as well as words in context.

Reading Workshop:

This week in Reading Workshop we will briefly review the strategies and skills we learned with words in context, and multiple meaning words. We will be introduced to Drama. Students will learn new terms and be exposed to dramas to read and discuss. 


Writing Workshop: 

This week we will continue to work with a writing prompt that gives us extra practice as we learn to write in one sitting, and build our stamina in writing. We will also continue to look at writing pieces where we will use our prior knowledge to revise and edit the pieces so that they read accurately.
