Reading Workshop:

This week we will begin Unit 2 - Plot! Students are familiar with Beginning, Middle, and End of texts, Plot takes us through deeper concepts of texts with- Exposition, Rising Action(s), Climax, Falling Action(s), Resolution

To introduce this new standard, we will refer back to the two texts we recently read together over the next two weeks, "Wilma Unlimited" and "Dance Like A Starlight". We will be breaking down these texts more to discover their Plot!

Guided Reading will also begin this week! I will be meeting with students in small groups to go over their guided reading books and the key objectives centered around the texts.

Writing Workshop:

This week we will use the structure of our Personal Narratives and connect them back to the key ideas we have been learning in Reading. For example, students will build the Plot of their Personal Narratives as they prepare to write them.

We will also have another Flash Write where students will have the opportunity to showcase their writing in one setting. Students should work to focus on the strength of their writing as well as their mechanics.
