Reading Workshop:
This week we will continue to work on our Performance Task where we share a book talk! Students will use their speaking skills to convey a message about a book they think their peers should read.

Students will also finish up their Guided Reading books in small group discussion, discussing the comprehension skill from their team's lessons. Students will then answer comprehension questions along with written responses to check for understanding.


Writing Workshop:
Students will write responses within the Performance Task to convey their thoughts about a book they have read, and believe their peers should read as well.

This week will close out our last week of Homework with a revision / edit lesson. 

Remember these are great resources that give a look at what the Writing STAAR will look like in April.

Reading Workshop: 
This week our Interactive Read Aloud will be: "Junk Man's Daughter". Students will create a summary from their reading, then give a mini book talk about their thoughts of the book. This will prepare them also for our end of unit book talk. Students will also meet with their reading partners this week to share their "Think About It" about summary. The two will work together to discuss their video responses through video. Mid week, students will begin their end of unit book talks as we begin to close out Unit 2. We will also begin our new Guided Reading Books that we will complete on Wednesday, December 18.

Writing Workshop:
Students will use their writing skills as they communicate to one another, as well as throughout the week as they respond to texts.

Grammar Talks:
Possessive Nouns


Technology Connection:
Students will have an opportunity this week to participate in Hour of Code through our Technology Department. Students can earn badges once they complete their hours!
The Hour of Code is a global movement by Computer Science Education Week and Code.org reaching tens of millions of students in 180+ countries through a one-hour introduction to computer science and computer programming.

Reading Workshop:
This week we will learn about summary, and have the opportunity to summarize some of our reading.

We will also respond to each other as through technology as we share in writing about our long week off!

We will also spend time reviewing previous concepts as we jump back into the week!

Students will receive their new Guided Reading Books on Wednesday, December 4.

Writing Workshop:
This week we will work on revising / editing sentences.
We will also learn about possessives in writing.
