ELAR WEEK: December 9 - 13

ELAR WEEK: December 9 - 13

Reading Workshop:
This week our Interactive Read Aloud will be: "Junk Man's Daughter". Students will create a summary from their reading, then give a mini book talk about their thoughts of the book. This will prepare them also for our end of unit book talk. Students will also meet with their reading partners this week to share their "Think About It" about summary. The two will work together to discuss their video responses through video. Mid week, students will begin their end of unit book talks as we begin to close out Unit 2. We will also begin our new Guided Reading Books that we will complete on Wednesday, December 18.

Writing Workshop:
Students will use their writing skills as they communicate to one another, as well as throughout the week as they respond to texts.

Grammar Talks:
Possessive Nouns

Technology Connection:
Students will have an opportunity this week to participate in Hour of Code through our Technology Department. Students can earn badges once they complete their hours!
The Hour of Code is a global movement by Computer Science Education Week and Code.org reaching tens of millions of students in 180+ countries through a one-hour introduction to computer science and computer programming.
