Reading Workshop

*Introduce new Genre - Folktales (fables, legends, myths, tall tales, fairy tale)

Guided Reading  (books: Famous First Ladies, Elizabeth Blackwell Jr. Iditarod, American Legends, Code Talkers, Hansel and Gretel, Escape from the Holocaust)

Stations:  Mon - Tues. 

*Independent Reading with Folktales 

*Using the Genre ~Folktales students will work with Plot elements

Writing Workshop

Grammar Warm Up - Week 3

ML: Students will work on creating 2 leads using a Prompt.

-2nd person lead and Sensory Language Lead


Tuesday: February 2

Reading Workshop

Theme Checkpoint (What do I understand or not understand about Theme)

Guided Reading

Writing Workshop

-Grammar Warm Up - week 3 

-Students will look at a prompt - together we will brainstorm topic ideas to be sure we create the Theme that is being asked within the prompt.

Wednesday: February 3

ML 2: Deep Dive into Legends

Mentor Text: ¨The Legend of the Bluebonnet¨

Guided Reading

Station: Wed-Thurs.
